Tuesday's Triumphs....

Now this topic I will have to think about.

Was suppose to be the first game for girl's soccer tonight at high school level.  Moses Lake playing Walla Walla.  Something happened...like Walla Walla forgot to schedule a bus for their trip to Moses Lake for the game.

I would not call that a triumph!!

I did not take a nap today...that is a triumph!!!

I had too many carbs today...that is not a triumph!!

Granddaughter Chayla came over for an hour and we talked and laughed.  I love it when I have one on one time with my grandchildren.  She is off to college this coming Thursday.  Sure going to miss her.   A good day.

Another granddaughter..Rachel who is 14 months old came over with her daddy.  What a triumph she is.  We love her so very much.  She is Brad's only child.  What a good daddy he is.  She makes him laugh all the time.  Through the darkness comes joy called Rachel Rose.

Talked briefly with Chayla about the coming of Christ, the Millenium and the great war with Satan at the end of the 1,000 years.  We joyously reflected on the knowledge we have of the outcome of that war to end all wars.  Christ and his soldiers....us....will win over the evil.  Can hardly wait.  TRIUMPHANT.

MONDAY MUSINGS....September 9, 2013

I have several granddaughters, but at this time there is one that I have been thinking about all day.  Her name is Maren Elise and today she started her mission in the Michigan Detroit Mission.

I have been "musing" over her mission and day dreaming about her arrival there, what she thought of the area, was she taken care of, was her apartment nice, does she like her companion. 

I admire this granddaughter so very much.  She is very intelligent and has top grades all the way through school and college.  She is a very happy person.  She never has given her parents any problems.  She is obedient, nice, beautiful and has a strong testimony of the Gospel of Christ.

Maren WAS to go Brazil too serve her mission, but there has been problems with those called to Brazil to get their visas.  So Maren may spend her entire mission in Michigan.  She did learn the Portugeuse  language but now she may never need it.

Maren also had a complete summer wardrobe that she purchased and now that she is going to Michigan she will need to get a winter wardrobe...boots, coats, scarves, sweaters...you get the picture.

She landed in Detroit today, was met by the Mission President and his wife who gave her a sack lunch.  Then she was taken to the mission home and was put immediately to work by going and visiting a inactive member and then tracting which she found out is not easy and the door is slammed in her face.

Ouch...that hurts.

For those of you who don't know Maren..... my request will not be difficult even if that is the case.  I ask for your prayers for her protection and safety on this mission to the Detroit Mission.  I will not elaborate on the area, but I know it is not one of the desirable places on earth. 

I know the church is very much aware of this area and they would not put our young women in harms way.  Thank you for your loving prayers in her behalf. '

I want my "musings" to continue on being positive...it will help me walk with faith and be more of a support to Maren which we now call Sister Hirz.

MY MOMENT IN TIME

Hi Family and Friends....

Just wanted you to know that I am back to blogging again.  Really do not have much to say but a gal needs to "vent" once in awhile.

I am enjoying the beautiful weather even though I am a prisoner in my home.  Just joking.  I am in my home because my body quit working but my spirit is still gung ho.  I would love to be able to come and go and live a normal life, but it is "test" time for me.

If the legs don't work any more that makes you confined.  But each day I manage to look out the window and see the clouds, the birds, the tree limbs swaying in the breeze, the crop of wheat growing and then yesterday seeing it harvested, shipped off, straw baled and stacked.  Today was disking the ground and partially planting alfalfa.  Busy time for the men in my family.

Life could be better, but there is reasons for our trials and thus I am determined to keep on looking for something every day to be thankful for.  I am most thankful for my cat Misty.  Never had a cat in the house before but she is not a farm cat.  My son Brad has her staying her.  We had her declawed so she does not hurt Brad's beautiful little girl Rachel.  She loves the cat and vice-versa.

I have a laptop computer which is company too.  I communicate via facebook with family and friends, send emails, look at beautiful quilt fabric (although I had to give all my previously bought fabric away), play games, and my favorite is genealogy research.

I have a great genealogy room but no longer can sit in the chair.  I am going to get a motorized chair ...hoping I will be able to get my bod out of it and in it.  Time will tell. 

You get a picture of my world: bed, bathroom, lift chair.....back to bed, bathroom, etc.  Family is bringing in meals just about every day.  I can no longer clean the home so I have my granddaughter Heidi making things look nice. 

Am I happy in my world?  Let us just say that attitude will make you or break you.  I choose to look at what is good, what I do have and thank God for each new day.  Yes, I miss church, shopping, the ease of getting up and down chairs, stairs, etc.  I miss my rose garden, my veggie garden, and most of all of being independent.

But I do have a knowledge of why I am here, where I HOPE to go and although some days are very hard, I will find things to smile about and laugh about.  I know that God is near.  I know that I am loved despite all the horrid mistakes I have made in my life.  I want to be normal, but it isn't to be.  I don't ask "why me?"  I just keep praying and taking it one day at a time.

Please tell me how you get through the trials of your life.  May God bless all of you in your daily ways that you will be able to do all things and  enjoy the blessings of a full life. 

DID I DIE AND GO TO HEAVEN?

Dear Family and Friends,

I truly do not know what to say.  Me, the chatterbox, has been dormant for over a year.  I cannot believe all the things that happened in that year.  Sure wish I had a camera.  I have hinted to the "boss" and he just doesn't get it...literally.  I gave up.  So you will just have to read and weep, or read and laugh, or read and cry. No pictures~~~

I know this post can be found on the internet without any trouble so I better watch what I put down.  How about a list????  If I wrote out the "story" on each item you would see why I entitled this writing "Did I die and go to Heaven?"

LIST OF 2012-2013:

Oh gosh...I can't.  Got lots of happenings listed and I realized that everyone has their good days and their bad days. Besides that you would feel sorry for me and cry, etc.

Guess what?  I came to earth to grow, to learn, to get "refined" and if this is how it can be done I will gladly go through it.  Bring it on as I always say. 

My absence from this blog can only be explained in this way.  My days were taken up with being refined and groomed for what is to come. There are many days, weeks, months ahead that are going to be filled with "schooling".

Be grateful for your time here on earth.  Enjoy the things you can do and do not waste time thinking of what you cannot do.  If you dwell on the negative, you forget the positive.  For the last 3 years I have been buying fabric to make quilts, table runners, baby blankets, pillowcases, little girl's dresses, etc.  I bought every piece of fabric over the internet.  Beautiful and gorgeous. I found out that I cannot stand up to cut out the fabric nor can I sit at a sewing machine.

Oh what to do with the thousands of dollars of fabric.  Solution: I had a Fabric Giveaway.  Family came over, looked, smiled and went home with huge stashes of fabric.  Did I sit and cry afterwards?
No....I looked at the positive: my daughters and their daughters will be sewing, learning and sharing with others the things they will be able to make and knowing that brings such great happiness to my heart.

Yes...I did die and go to heaven on that day.  A peaceful, happy, contended feeling.  One I have needed to experience for a long, long time.  It truly was a heavenly feeling.

GOING! GOING! GONE!

Do you have a box of kleenex?  I am almost out!  Okay so I am one of those grandmother's that just think their grandchildren are the greatest, the smartest, the best....you get the picture.  I have been so blessed to have them in my life every day.  We have a Hirz commune you know and I tell you it is the only way to feel like you have already died and gone to heaven...meaning eternal life. 

So why the kleenex?  Wait a minute, I have to blow my nose and wipe my tears....again!

Because our little commune...out little village is just not going to be the same.  First it was Mark and family moved to Tri-Cites because of his State Patrol job...there went Heather and Hilary.  His son Brent married Carolyn and are still in Provo.  The twins Ashley and Amber lived here on the farm and are in college far from here.  Okay,  I have adjusted to all that.  Now comes 4 more to leave.  Who gives all these kids permission to leave the nest?  I sure didn't...but then again they didn't ask my permission.  Who is going to do my personal shopping?   Who is going to clean my house each week?   Who is going to rub my head when I have a headache?   Who is going to rub my feet and make me feel like a queen? The next four all live here and three of them are sisters:  Cherise is going to dental hygienist school; Chayla and Makenna are going to BYU Idaho; and Maren is going to BYU Provo.  I swear they were just born yesterday.  I should never have closed my eyes as when I opened them they were all grown up.  Maren leaves in 5 days.  Kleenex please.  None of them seem to want to take me with them...they say their dorm rooms are really small.   What is a grandmother to do? Two years from now there will be four more leaving. 

I think I just better be grateful that I have had them so close their entire lives and I just better think about my last grandchild who isn't even here yet.  She is coming around July 7th.  This time I am not going to close my eyes and see her as a baby then all of a sudden a young adult leaving the nest.  No this one is going to take me all the way back to the beginning again...diapers, bottles, cries, rocking, singing to her, playing, reading.  Golly gee whiz....I have another chance to be a good grandmother.  Hopefully too one day Brent and Carolyn can move back and I can do the same with my great granddaughter Claire is now 4 months old. 

Yes, they are going, going, gone........but not for long.  God is giving me some more babies and one day our little Hirz village will be ringing with the sounds of laughter, giggling and no more tears from this grandmother.

INTRODUCING CLAIRE BRELYN

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce my first great grandchild: Miss Claire Brelyn Hirz.  She is the daughter of my oldest grandchild: Brent Hirz and his adorable wife Carolyn Jackson.



Claire came up to Moses Lake with her Daddy and Mommy and she was blessed at our church on April 12th, 2012 (on my 73rd birthday)  She was blessed in her momma's blessing dress...isn't it beautiful!!  And the white blanket under her was her daddy's at his blessing.
This is a picture of Claire taken just this last Sunday..May 6th.  It was her church outfit that day.  She is now 3 and 1/2 months old.  She is such a good baby and laughs all the time.  Notice the pillowcase in the background...I made those for each of the grandchildren for Christmas 2010...
Now that I have learned how to post pictures I keep doing it.  It was easy.  Stay tuned!!

LITTLE THINGS MEAN A LOT

I am weary of writing posts that are not upbeat and full of fun and laughter.  Hopefully one day peace will abide.  In the meantime I have been thinking of the "little things" of life and if we all try to make sure that someone somewhere is the recipient. 
I want to share with you some of the "little things" that make my day!! A short list so as not to bore you:
1. A squeeze of the hand or a hug from my hubby
2. I'm sorry.  Thank you.  Excuse me.  (in other words: MANNERS)
3. Plate of warm cookies
4. Loaf of homemade bread
5. A phone call of good news
6. A card in the mail that says how wonderful you are.
7. Praise
8. A child, grandchild, friend telling you how much they love you
9. A bouquet of flowers
10. Chocolate

If I took all those things I would like on a daily basis don't you feel that others may too.  I think these are nice things to do for just about everyone and it would make their day.  What peace and love a person could give.
