Tomorrow is the first day of school. There is excitement in the air for both children and parents, but there is also a bit of sadness. There are moms who are sending off their firstborn and know they are opening a new door of life. Those mothers will go through some very big, emotional adjustments and so will the child who has only known his or her mother as the one who taught, who loved, who cared. Yes, the child is anxious, excited, curious but there are a zillion butterflies having a field day in that child's tummy. I will never forget having those feelings myself...the day the butterflies come out and dwell in your tummy...the day called the first day of school. The next day....no sweat. Piece of cake. But for mom she will take a little longer to adjust. There will be tears, a big void and yet at the same time she feels that all her hard work is coming to fruition seeing her child enter a new world. May our children and our grandchildren be watched over by their Father in Heaven as they venture out to explore books, figures, friends, games, rules, etc. Before we know it we will blink our eyes and those children will be sending off their own children with a heavy heart and tears glistening in their eyes. The circle of life goes on and on and on........
